About me
Dr. Hurrieta’s leadership is defined by a rare 'full-circle' perspective. A native biliterate leader and alumna of the district, she has served at every level of the system—from working as a custodian and paraprofessional to leading successful school turnarounds as a Principal for over 15 years. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Denver, research focused on maximizing the potential of bilingual students. Today, she is leading the charge to implement the recommendations of the La Raza Report, working to dismantle the 'Brown Ceiling' and ensure that Latine students, staff, and families finally see themselves reflected in the system’s success.
