Javiera Paz Ihrig Reyes is a Chilean-born educator and doctoral student in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Denver. Her research examines how immigration enforcement logics converge with schooling practices, conceptualized as Schooling as a Site of Crimmigration Convergence, to shape racialized experiences of surveillance, belonging, and access to education within U.S. schools. With over a decade of experience in Denver Public Schools as a teacher, coach, and administrator, she brings both scholarly and practical expertise to her work. A proud Mestiza of Spanish and Mapuche ancestry, Javiera believes in education as a space for healing, justice, and imagination, where exploration thrives without colonization.
